welcome to spieles Chiropractic.

It’s true, we’ve been serving the community for over 60 years.

It began with Dr. Larry Spieles, a dedicated healer. He started the Chiropractic Clinic in 1961 and was later joined by his son Dr. Doug Spieles.

Years later, Dr. Doug is proud to be joined by his two sons, Dr. Derek and Dr. Josh Spieles. It’s evident that over the years, the gift and joy of helping and healing their community is something they have all grown passionate about, and take honor in being a part of their patients’ lives in this way.

Douglas Spieles, D.C.

Dr. Doug graduated from The National College of Chiropractic in 1988. He was such a sports fanatic when he started his practice that his focus became mainly sports injuries, (such as knees, ankles, shoulders, etc). He was fortunate enough to help with several athletes who played professional football and baseball. It was exciting to watch them flourish knowing that he played a role in their success. Dr. Doug is passionate about healing and injury prevention in all athletes, always going beyond the adjustment to get them back in the game. When necessary, that has led to an orthopedic intervention. Dr Doug has developed a great rapport with Dr Timothy Kremchek who is the Cincinnati Reds team doctor.

When he started practice there were no trainers, physical or massage therapists (all important players of healing) and was fortunate enough to be trained in school in all these fields. He applies these disciplines with all his patients still today.

Another big focus of his practice has been pregnant women and pediatrics. Dr Doug has been treating babies for 34 years. He is a long-standing member of the ICPA (International Chiropractic Pediatric Association). Much of his continuing education has revolved around pediatric care. He is certified in the Webster Technique, trained under Dr. Webster himself, which can help with the effects of breech complications.

Dr. Doug recognizes that spirituality plays a large role in the office. Many problems people experience come from anxiety and spiritual weakness. Dr. Doug loves to distribute “Jesus Calling” books to his patients, as well as encourage spiritual guidance, to help them with emotional issues they may be battling. He believes a good doctor truly cares for his patient’s overall health; physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Derek Spieles, D.C.

Dr. Derek Spieles graduated from Life University Cum Laude in 2019 and has been practicing at Spieles Chiropractic ever since. He is passionate about finding alternative routes to healing the body, and is always educating himself on new practices, methods, techniques, and options for his patients.

Dr. Derek’s faith has always been his paramount focus. Prior to Chiropractic education he spent seven years in the Catholic seminary studying to become a priest. He believes those seven years of convicted prayer and studies became the pillars upon which his method of practice is founded.

He spent the majority of his internship treating disc herniations through spinal decompression along with studying and reading MRI’s of the cervical and lumbar spine. This has brought a great advantage to his everyday practice in diagnosing and helping patients better understand their particular condition.

Dr. Derek’s goal with each patient is to simply make them feel better by trying to address and correct the root cause of their problem.

Josh Spieles, D.C.

Dr. Josh Spieles attended The Ohio State University prior to his chiropractic education, graduating with a degree in health and rehabilitation sciences. He then enrolled at Life University in Atlanta, Georgia, graduating with his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2020.  Dr. Josh returned to Columbus, Ohio to start his chiropractic internship. He interned for a pediatric chiropractor who treated hundreds of children and pregnant women every week. Dr. Josh fell in love with this type of practice of treating children and pregnant women and is currently in the process of getting his Certification by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics (CACCP). The CACCP is a comprehensive 200-hour program consisting of 19 required seminars. It is designed to help the chiropractor expand their ability in adjusting techniques, evaluation, and assessment of different stages of development: from pregnancy, birth, infancy, and throughout childhood.

Dr. Josh also has a great love for sports and treating athletes. Dr. Josh practiced in Columbus for over a year under the Columbus Crew Soccer Club team chiropractor and worked closely with the Columbus Crew players and staff. Dr. Josh also attended the NFL combine conference which helped him gain a better understanding of how to treat athletes from NFL team chiropractors.

Being a 3rd generation chiropractor, Dr. Josh knew from an early age the miracles chiropractic care can provide for patients. He now gets to witness these miracles firsthand every single day. Dr. Josh looks forward to being able to help you on your journey of becoming healthier and happier through chiropractic care.
